H. Hughes & Son Ship Binnacle Table Lamp in Patinated Brass
This is truly a remarkable table lamp made out of an antique ship binnacle in solid brass.
Originally this was a ship’s binnacle - used to house a compass - but after its long working life this binnacle (or rather the top part) was transformed in to a very desirable table lamp. Showing a truly mesmerizing patina and with its original ‘H. Hughes & Son’ name plate up front, this table lamp truly is a piece of art. Great sculptural appearance with the two handles on both sides and the spherical top part. Also, please note the wonderful bolts and screws used.
Would be wonderful on a sideboard or on a desk - especially if the new owner has a bit of a nautical history to back up the story.
