Pair of Art Deco Armchairs in Solid Wood and Tapisserie 1930s

€8,400.00

This is an incredible museum worthy pair of art deco armchairs in solid wood and tapisserie, made in the 1930s. Most probably Belgian or Dutch origin.

A very rare find, this pair of chairs featuring a sculptural and very distinct art deco design. Wonderful details are omnipresent; just look at the elegant cubist shapes and other details like the slightly curved back feet and the decorative front feet. Of course, the pièce de résistance of this set is the stunning tapisserie upholstery which is as impressive now as when it was new.

Wonderfully preserved and highly original, this pair of armchairs appears as if it has never been used. These chairs must have acted as show pieces in a prestigious art deco interior. Hopefully they will serve the same purpose in the next 100 years. Please note: consider the comfort of these chairs in the context of 1930s sitting comfort.

All in all a very rare and stunning pair of armchairs with jaw dropping upholstery.

Dimensions: W. 66  x D. 60 x H. 91 x SH. 32 cm
