Set of Antique Rajasthan Courtyard Door Dining Table with 6 Spanish Oak and Leather Chairs
This is a large antique Indian dining table from the 19th century, made out of an earlier - probably 18th century - Rajasthan courtyard door. For this listing combined with a set of wonderful Spanish style chairs in solid oak and patinated leather.
A great and desirable combination!
The table:
In the 19th century in India it was quite common to turn these types of impressive old doors into tables. The segmented table top in wood and metal is resting on four turned baluster style legs connected with metal stretchers and wonderfully carved spandrels. Very good patina with visible traces of paint and wonderful wear on the wooden and metal surfaces.
A very unusual and attractive piece, would be amazing in a wabi sabi style interior with brutalist touches.
Dimensions: W. 194 x D. 127 x H. 76 cm

The chairs:
A stylish and distinct set of 6 dining chairs in solid oak, patinated leather and brass. Mid 20th century, European.
These chairs feature a very distinct and particular design after traditional antique Spanish chairs - a chair model widely known and loved - with the almost medieval styled base in solid wood, the heavy brass nails and the two lovely carved finials on top.
It is a set with a classical appeal and a very timeless elegance - and although being quite distinct also very usable in various interior design settings and styles. Would be great in a classical Spanish Revival style house, but could also work perfectly in interiors with a wabi sabi or brutalist approach.
The set comes in a good vintage condition with a very desirable patina on the leather and restored seat comfort underneath.
