Jos Kalb Grès de La Roche Salt Glazed Large Vase Belgium 1940s

€450.00

This is a beautiful and large vase by Grès de La Roche by pottery artist Jos Kalb. It was made in his Belgian workshop in the Ardennes, presumably in the 1940s.

The vase has a very attractive base shape, but a lot of character is added by the intricate patterns and carvings. Most of the works by Kalb are rather traditional and can be viewed as pieces from a local pottery tradition, but with this vase he showed that he was able to create something more profound and modernist looking. A studio pottery gem with international allure.

The result is a very elegant and timeless piece of art pottery which could be used as a decorative piece, but would also be wonderful with some flowers in it.

Dimensions: W. 26 x D. 26 x H. 40 cm
